Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Does Touchstone Functional and Wellness Center accept insurance?

Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance for our services. When a provider bills to an insurance carrier directly, they must become a participating provider with that insurance. In doing so, the insurance company determines what services can be provided, how that service is provided, and what can be charged for that service. By working outside of this traditional system, I can spend more time with my patients. This allows for a better understanding of an individual's needs and to develop a customized treatment plan.
2. Will my insurance reimburse me for my consultations?

Patients who have out of network benefits with their insurance provider can petition for possible reimbursement. I can provide a superbill with ICD-10 and CPT codes that can be submitted for possible coverage upon request. This is not offered for patients with Medicare.
3. What can I expect during my first visit?

During your initial consultation, you will sit down with me to discuss your current issues, your medical history, and your health and lifestyle goals. A plan will be formulated that may include dietary adjustments, exercise recommendations, lab testing order, dietary supplements, and traditional medications (if necessary).
4. Will Touchstone Functional and Wellness Center be your Primary Care Provider?

No. Our practice is not equipped to handle and manage acute illness, nor do we have hospital privileges. Touchstone Functional and Wellness Center focuses on optimizing overall health and wellness. In doing so, we require that patients maintain a regular primary care provider as part of the practice.
5. What type of lab testing is done and is it covered by my insurance?

Testing can be done for a wide variety of issues. This includes basic laboratory testing to more advanced testing. Some examples of lab testing that can be covered by insurance companies include a complete blood count, complete metabolic panel, complete thyroid panel, advanced lipid testing, insulin, Vitamin D, etc. There are functional labs, such as stool, urine, blood, and saliva testing that may or may not be covered by insurance. However, these tests are completely optional
6. What is the cancellation policy?

To ensure that each patient if given the highest quality of care and the proper amount of time for their visit; a 3-day cancellation policy is required for functional medicine appointments.
